Amid surge in novel coronavirus cases in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed authorities to increase Covid-19 testing across the state and expedite door-to-door survey and medical screening.
CM Yogi Adityanath on Thursday directed the officials to increase Covid-19 testing during the daily Covid-19 situation review meeting at his residence in Lucknow.
"The current capacity of 20,000 tests per day by rapid antigen method can be increased to 50,000 tests per day in a phased manner. The officials should expedite door-to-door survey and medical screening across the state. Those suspected of Covid-19 in the medical screening should be subjected to rapid antigen testing," Yogi Adityanath said.
Uttar Pradesh has already tested nearly 55,000 people in a day and efforts are being made to ramp up the testing further.
CM Yogi Adityanath also directed the nodal officers of the districts to submit their respective reports to the chief secretary on a daily basis so that he can be briefed about the lastestCovid-19 preventive activities and health services.
Yogi Adityanath asked the government officials to remain in constant touch with the field officers and continue sanitisation drive during the weekend lockdown.
Yogi Adityanath said that the rainy season requires more attention to prevention of various other diseases. He directed the authorities to provide timely help to flood-affected people and every district should have a functional flood control room.
Yogi Adityanath directed the principal secretary of the animal husbandry department to ensure availability of fodder for cows in shelters.
