England's all-rounder and caretaker captain Ben Stokes became the second fastest player to score 150 wickets and 4000 runs in Test cricket.




England acting captain Ben Stokes has added another record to his account. He has become the second fastest player to score 150 wickets and 4000 runs in the longest format of cricket. Stokes achieved this point in the first Test match being played between England and West Indies. In the Ages Bowl, Stokes piled up the Windies for 318 runs in the first innings with 4 wickets.

Stokes' third wicket was of Alzari Joseph and this was also his 150th Test wicket. He has become the sixth cricketer to have the double feat of scoring 150 wickets and 4000 runs in Test cricket. Before them in this list are Gary Sobers of West Indies, Ian Batham of England, Kapil Dev of India, Jacques Kallis of South Africa, Daniel Vettori of New Zealand.


Stokes is the second fastest player to do so. Gary Sobers achieved this point faster than him. Sobers achieved this feat in 63 Tests while Stokes has done it in 64 Tests. Ben Stokes is one of the best all-rounders of all time.
